The latest studies have shown that the main cause for the lack of progress isn’t at all related to bad genetics. In fact, the main cause for this is the fact that people do not respect the basic rules of bodybuilding.

A lot of people think that by eating 7 meals per day, they will grow. Well, this is 50% true. But in order to grow, you must eat at least 2 grams of proteins per each kilogram. Therefore, if you eat 7 meals composed of rice, potatoes or sweets, you won’t GAIN MUSCLES. Make sure that your diet plan is composed like this: 45% proteins, 45% carbs and 10% fats. Do not neglect any of them, if you really want to gain muscles.

Another big problem, which finally leads to the lack of progress/muscles is related to over training. People think that if you train more, your muscles will be bigger. THAT IS 100% not true! Tell me, if you are injured at one hand, will you still work with that hand, even if you are not healed? NO! Well, the same treatment must be applied to the muscles. Train each muscle group once a week, and after that, let your muscles rest. It is vital for them to get proper recovery, or otherwise, they will never grow.

The next cause for the lack of progress is maybe the most important, and maybe the most often met cause. It is related to resting. In order to beneficiary of a proper muscle growth, everyone must sleep at least 8 hours per day, each day. People should be aware that the muscles do not grow in the gym; the muscles are growing during your sleep. Also, during the sleep, the main growth hormones will be secreted, and therefore it would be a pity not to get 100% benefits of the resting time. We know it’s hard to sleep that much, because time seems that is never enough these days. Though, if you want muscles, you have to sleep!

The last main cause which is responsible for the lack of progress is related to under training. A muscle, in order to grow, must not be trained in a draconic way. Train intensive but not too much, and not too little. 2-3 sets per muscles group won’t ever bee enough, even if you reach muscle failure.

Many specialists say that per the small muscle groups, people should perform no more than 12 sets – 3 exercises of 4 sets each- and for the big muscle groups, people should perform about 16 sets – 4 exercises of 4 sets each. This “rule” is also put in practice by the pro bodybuilders. If you watch their training, you will see that they are training with a high volume. And if they can do it, you can also do it. By training with volume – but not too much, though- the nutrients that you will get from the post-workout shake or from the amino-acids will go directly into the cells.

If you respect from now on the above rules, you can not fail. Muscles will appear in no time. Though, it takes perseverance, patience and an iron psychic power in order to build that body you have ever wished for. BUT YOU CAN DO IT!
